The European Commission announces the launch of the 6th Call For Proposal of the grant scheme “CYPRIOT CIVIL SOCIETY IN ACTION”

On 30 June, the European Commission launched a EUR 2,500,000 call for proposals aiming at supporting Civil Society Organisation (CSO) capacity building, sustainability, effectiveness, transparency and accountability; to reinforce CSO involvement and impact in policy-making and actions in the public interest; and to strengthen CSO cooperation with other stakeholders to jointly tackle societal needs.
The sixth “Cypriot Civil Society in action” call for proposals targets these objectives by:
– Strengthening the organisational capacities, outreach and impact of civil society in promoting and defending democracy, fundamental rights and freedoms, cultural diversity and reconciliation;
– Reinforcing Partnerships, Cooperation and Networking across Cyprus and/or with CSOs from other EU Member States to jointly address societal needs.

The call represents a unique opportunity for Civil Society Organisations to reinforce their capacity, actions and cooperation and make a change for the benefit of all.
Projects to be supported will range from EUR 100,000 to EUR 350,000 for a two to three year implementation period.
The full Guidelines for potential grant applicants are available for consultation on the following internet site under the reference EUROPEAID 155191: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/europeaid/online-services/index.cfm?do=publi.welcome

A launch event for this call will be held on 13 July 2017 from 18:00 to 20.00 at the Büyük Han, in the northern part of Nicosia in the presence of European Commission officials. Interested local stakeholders are invited to attend.
