Description
Founded in 2009, CISRUL studies the application of political ideas globally.  The Centre draws on expertise across disciplines to examine how political principles function within and beyond the contemporary West. Concepts such as ‘citizenship’, ‘civil society’, and the ‘rule of law’ are used as often by policy makers as by scholars. Core to CISRUL’s mission is informing academic and public debate on how they are used, and to what effect.

Free online course on EU budget and funding for regions and cities

As of 31 October the European Committee of the Regions will offer its second free online course or MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) on ‘EU budget and funding for regions and cities’. Over a six-week period participants will gain insight into how the EU budget is drawn up and spent. They will get a practical overview of EU funding opportunities at regional and local level. The course is open to everybody interested in EU and regional and local affairs, free of charge, online. Studying time is about two hours per week.

Who can join?

EP GRANTS FOR MEDIA AND EVENTS

DG COMM has published its new multi-annual grants programme 2016-2019 in the area of communication at http://www.europarl.europa.eu/contracts-and-grants/en/20150201PVL00100/Grants

This multi-annual work programme for grants will be implemented through the publication of calls for proposals on the European Parliament’s website.

In the media category, grants will be awarded in two steps. Applicants must apply first for partnership in accordance with the call for proposals for partnership COMM/FPA/2016 (submission deadline: 31 May). Only selected partners will be eligible for the award of a grant under call for proposals for the cofinancing of specific projects in the media category COMM/SUBV/2016/M (submission deadline: 31 August).

In the events category, grants will be awarded directly without partnership. All interested organisations may submit a grant application in accordance with the call for proposals for the cofinancing of specific projects in the events category COMM/SUBV/2016/E (submission deadline: 31 may).
