WORK POTISIONS: Experts in technical support to Member States’ Structural Reforms and experts in the Schengen acquis

The European Commission (EC) is currently looking for administrators with expertise in structural reforms as well as administrators with expertise in the Schengen acquis. Recruited experts (grade AD 7) will mainly work at the EC’s Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) and the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME).

We offer opportunities to experts who fit one of these two profiles:

Structural reforms support administrators: your main tasks will be to design, implement and evaluate technical support projects, with the aim of supporting administrative and structural reforms in Member States. You will provide Member States’ authorities with direct advice at technical and political level, design and coordinate technical support projects, manage complex contracts and agreements and monitor the operational implementation of technical support to Member States.

Schengen acquis administrators: your main tasks will be to design, implement and evaluate the Schengen acquis in Member States, with the aim of reinforcing the legal and policy framework in place. You will prepare legislative initiatives on the Schengen acquis and participate in negotiations, contribute to the design and implementation of new policy initiatives, assess and evaluate existing legislation and provide Member States’ authorities with direct advice at technical and political level.
